How rebates actually work

Rebate programs are powerful but confusing — different agencies, income tiers, equipment requirements, and application windows. Most homeowners leave thousands on the table simply because they don't know what they qualify for or how to claim it.

That's where we come in. As a participating contractor, HVAC in LA checks your eligibility across every program, selects equipment that qualifies for the maximum stack, and files the paperwork on your behalf. Many incentives — like HEEHRA — are applied at the point of sale, so you never have to front the money and wait for a check.

Rebate FAQs

How much can I save with HVAC rebates in Los Angeles?
Income-eligible homeowners can stack HEEHRA (up to $8,000), TECH Clean California ($1–3K), LADWP or SCE utility rebates ($500–$2K), and the Federal 25C tax credit (up to $2,000). Most projects qualify for at least $3,000; income-qualified projects can reach $8–10K off.
Who qualifies for HEEHRA rebates?
HEEHRA is income-based. Households at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) qualify for up to 100% of project cost; 80–150% AMI qualify for up to 50%. We help you determine your eligibility tier.
Do I have to apply for the rebates myself?
No — that's the best part. HVAC in LA handles the eligibility check and files the rebate paperwork for you as part of qualifying installations. Many incentives are applied at the point of sale so you never front the money.
Can I combine multiple rebates?
Yes. Most programs are designed to stack — for example HEEHRA + Federal 25C + a utility rebate on the same heat pump. We map out the full stack at your free consultation.
Are rebates available for AC, or only heat pumps?
The largest rebates target heat pumps because they electrify and decarbonize. Standard high-efficiency AC and furnaces still qualify for some utility rebates and, in some cases, the Federal 25C credit. We'll tell you exactly what your chosen system qualifies for.
